Getting to Reykjavík from Keflavík Airport

Keflavík International Airport (KEF) is located approximately 50 km from Reykjavík. The journey to the city takes around 45–60 minutes.

The easiest option is the Flybus airport shuttle, which departs from Keflavík Airport in connection with arriving flights. When booking, select the hotel/drop-off option for Fosshotel Reykjavík / Bus Stop 12 – Höfðatorg, located next to the hotel. (flybus.is)

Book Flybus airport transfer

Alternatively, Strætó public bus Route 55 operates between Keflavík Airport and the Reykjavík area. The adult fare to Reykjavík is currently ISK 2,400, and payment can be made by debit/credit card or cash on board. Please note that not all Route 55 departures travel all the way to BSÍ Bus Terminal, so check the timetable before travelling. (Strætó)

Taxis are also available outside the airport terminal. As Keflavík Airport is around 50 km from Reykjavík, this is a more expensive option but can be convenient when travelling in a group.

We recommend allowing approximately one hour for travel between Keflavík Airport and Reykjavík.
